Tigers Look To Extend Win Streak Over Miss.State Tonight

The Bayou Bengals are looking to take their 12th straight win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Starkville tonight at 7 on ESPN.

LSU is coming in to tonight’s game with a perfect record for this 2011 season with wins over Oregon in week one, and Northwestern State last weekend. The Bulldogs come into this match-up with a 1-1 record with a win over Memphis in week one and a heart-breaking loss in Auburn last week.

Both teams are meeting on a short week of practice, but look to be ready for the game. For LSU it is their opener in SEC play.

These two teams are meeting for the 106th time tonight, and LSU has come out on top the past eleven contests. Remember, LSU narrowly escaped defeat the last time they were in Starkville when Chad Jones had to bat down a pass at the goal line on the second to last play of the game, and made a game saving tackle at the one to win the game.

Bulldogs Head Coach, Dan Mullen, is only 2-9 versus SEC West opponents, and those two victories have come against a struggling Ole Miss the past two seasons. Regardless, the cowbell crazies in Starkville are itching for a victory over the Tigers.

This game also carries more significance. For the first time in 105 match-ups, the two teams are national ranked when facing each other. LSU is ranked #3 in the country, while Miss.State is ranked #25. State fell this week after last weeks embarrassing loss on the plains against the unranked defending champion Auburn Tigers.

My prediction for this game is that if LSU plays their best game and eliminates stupid mistakes they will win this game. Like I said on the radio show this week, I think it may be a little too close for comfort for Tiger fans, but they will end up getting the win.

To the fans, you can find this game live from Starkville tonight on ESPN at 7:00 C.T.

Don’t forget to tune in to radio show I am now featured on. It is “Louisiana State Roar” by CRM Sports, and it is available on iTunes for free download.

That’s all I have this time, Thanks for reading.
